Kids Haircuts in Leigh

Some kids sit still and enjoy it. Some sit rigid and stare at the floor. Some scream the shop down the second the clippers start. We have had all three this week and none of it bothers us.

A kids cut here is £15 for under twelves and we give it a full half hour, which means there is time to let a nervous child watch for a minute before we start. If they need to sit on a parent's knee for the first few minutes, that is fine. If they need the clippers turned on and held in their hand first so they know what the noise is, we will do that too.

First haircuts

If it is a first haircut, say so when you book and pick a quieter slot. Thursday and Friday afternoons are the calmest times in the shop. We keep the first one short and simple, scissors over clippers where we can, and we would rather send them home with a decent cut and a good memory than fight for a perfect one.

School rules

Most secondary schools around Leigh will not allow hair taken down to the skin, a hard parting cut in with a razor, or anything shorter than a grade two. Tell us the school and what they allow and we will keep it on the right side of the line. A tapered fade finishing at a grade one or two looks sharp and passes almost everywhere.

What we can cut

Short crops, tapered fades, textured tops, longer curtains, mushroom cuts, and whatever the current footballer's haircut happens to be. Bring a photo. Kids usually know exactly what they want and are much happier when they get it. We will say if it will not work with their hair rather than take your money and disappoint them.

Booking a kids haircut in Leigh

We open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only, so book a slot rather than walk in if your child does not do waiting. School holidays and Saturday mornings are our busiest times, so get in early for those. Booking two together, dad and lad, works well: they see you go first and it takes the fear out of it.
