Styles included in the price

A fade is a cutting style, not a separate service. Same goes for a taper and a short back and sides. Tell your barber what you are after and it is all covered by the one price.

• Fade. Low, mid or high. The hair goes from very short at the bottom up through the grades into the length on top, with no visible line anywhere.
• Taper. A softer version that keeps the neckline and the area round the ears tidy without a hard contrast. Good for work.
• Short back and sides. The classic. One or two grades on the sides, scissor work on top, side parting if you want one.
• Scissor cut. No clippers at all, for men who want length kept and weight taken out.
• Textured crops, quiffs, slick backs and curls. Whatever you want on top, cut to how your hair actually grows.

What happens in the chair

We talk first. What you normally have, what you liked and did not like last time, how much upkeep you are willing to do. Then we look at how the hair grows, where the crown sits and whether the hairline is going back at the temples, because all of that changes where the shape should sit.

Then the cut itself. Clipper and scissor work, the neckline squared or tapered to suit your hairline, round the ears cleaned up, and the whole thing checked in the arch mirror from both sides before you get out of the chair. Finished with whatever product suits your hair, and we will tell you honestly if you do not need any.

Honest advice, not upselling

If a style is not going to sit right on your head, we will say so and suggest something that will. Thinning on top or receding at the temples is nothing to worry about and nothing we will try to sell you a fix for. Short sides, textured top, no combing anything forward, and it looks deliberate rather than hidden.
